Quality training for staff is the key to success for every forward looking organisation and Inverclyde Council is no exception.
Within Inverclyde Council we aim to recruit young people to the workforce through our Modern Apprenticeship (MA) programme, which is open to young people who are able and willing to achieve a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) at Level 3 (SCQF L6/7). The MA programme offers young people the opportunity to learn new skills, achieve a nationally recognised qualification and enables them to earn as they learn within a range of areas including:
- Business & Administration
- Customer Service
- Life Science (School Technician)
- Vehicle Mechanic
- Accountancy Technician
- Electrical Engineer
- Waste Management
- Paralegal Services
The MA programme is a practical way to make the most of young people's potential, through a structured training process aimed at equipping them to do a job, whilst providing the opportunity to obtain work based SVQs. The programme is funded by Inverclyde Council and Skills Development Scotland.
Over the years, the high success rate of MAs gaining full time employment is evidence of the quality of training being provided.
Recruitment for the MA programme takes place at certain points in the year, and specific vacancies will be advertised via the MyJobScotland website (see the External Links on this page).
We will also seek to promote vacancies through the Council website, local partners and press.
