To ensure Inverclyde Libraries are autism-accessible, we now have a range of sensory resources and equipment to support and assist people with autism. Please ask staff for details.

 

Au-some Afternoons!

From Wednesday 26th September 2018, Greenock Central Library will be hosting autism-accessible afternoons on the last Wednesday of each month to support adults and children with autism or additional support needs.  The afternoon will include an Au-some Bookbug Session with Makaton signing from 2pm-2.45pm followed by Quiet Library Time from 3pm-4.30pm.

 

In addition to our regular resources and services we can offer:

•             Reduced noise                                                  

•             Informed & understanding staff

•             Autism, BSL and Makaton book collections

•             Access to a range of sensory resources and stress-relieving equipment

•             A colour-coded library floor plan

•             Quiet activity tables
