World Car Free Day
On Friday, 22 September 2023 between 10AM and 4PM we will celebrate the World Car Free Day in Inverclyde.On that day, bus travel within Inverclyde will be FREE of charge for EVERYONE!
So leave your car at home – on us!
Come, and celebrate with us in West Blackhall Street, Greenock.
The programme for the day includes:
- A drawing competition for children titled “Street without cars” (that will run until the 13 October 2023);
- Wellbeing walks:
Walk 1: 11am for 11.15am start. After gathering on West Blackhall Street, we will take a gentle stroll to the Esplanade and back – 2 miles maximum.
Walk 2: 2pm for 2.15pm start. After gathering on West Blackhall Street we head to the waterfront, passing the Beacon and heading back in a loop via Cathcart Street and the Oak Mall – 1.6 miles maximum.

- Smoothie Bike - Create your own smoothie with pedal power!
- 11am - 12pm – Bike Basics - A short course on bike maintenance;
- 12pm - 4pm – Doctor Bike sessions (to 1 bike per head);
- Display and trial rides on E-Bikes;
- McGill’s display of an electric bus.
Everyone is welcome!
Also, on top of that, we will be offering free bus travel to everyone on the October Week Sundays (i.e.15 and 22 October). Spread the word!
