Proposed Disposal and/or Appropriation of Land At Rankin Park, Greenock for the construction of an Indoor Tennis Facility.

Inverclyde Council is, with Inverclyde Leisure, proposing to build a new Indoor Tennis Facility on land at Rankin Park, Inverkip Road, Greenock, which land is currently open space. The intended project will involve the lease to Inverclyde Leisure of land and include the construction on that land of the Indoor Tennis Facility, associated facilities, landscaping and additional car parking (all of which referred to on this page as “the Project Works”). A previous consultation on the proposal closed on 30 January 2020. This further consultation is being undertaken as the proposed location of the Project Works has materially changed.

A copy of the plan showing the proposed location of the Project Works may be downloaded from the documents section of this page or requested by telephone on 01475 712 102 or  by email to property@inverclyde.gov.uk.

Please note that the location of the Project Works and of the land to be leased within Rankin Park has not been finalised and so may change further as the project is developed and the planning process progresses.

Any person may object to or make representations on the proposal either by email to property@inverclyde.gov.uk or in writing to:

The Interim Head of Legal Services,
Inverclyde Council,
Municipal Buildings,
Clyde Square,

Objections and representations should be made by no later than 5.00 pm on 10 December 2021 and should state the grounds on which they are made.  Any objections or representations received, together with the details of the party or parties making same, will appear in a publically available report to the Council’s Environment and Regeneration Committee.

Inverclyde Leisure has submitted an application for planning permission for this project, which contains further detail on the proposals. Documents in relation to this application can be downloaded from the link to the planning application shown in the links section of this page.

Please note that any objections and/or representations made to Legal and Property Services regarding the proposed disposal and/appropriation described on this page, and any representations made to the Regeneration and Planning Service regarding the planning application, will be treated entirely separately.
