Port Glasgow customer service desk withdrawn from 10 May

Inverclyde Council is withdrawing the customer service function at Princes Street House in Port Glasgow on Friday 10 May 2019 due to a lack of demand.

A spokesperson for Inverclyde Council said, “When the Port Glasgow customer service desk was set up we expected to see a shift in customer numbers from the main desk at the Municipal Buildings in Greenock to the new facility at Princess Street House.

“This hasn’t happened and we can’t justify the ongoing cost of providing the service for the small numbers who use it. The number of customers visiting the Port Glasgow customer service desk each day rarely gets above single figures.”
