£15,000 available for local voluntary and sports groups
Friday 15 November 2019
Local voluntary and sporting groups are being invited to apply to Inverclyde Council for cash help. Some £15,000 is available and the deadline for applications is Friday 13 December.
Every year the council makes money available through its Grants to Voluntary Organisations fund and the Under 19’s Sports Grants. Both are issued in two phases and applications are now being accepted for Round 2 for 2019/20 financial year.
Community and sports groups can apply for the cash to use to support a range of activities across Inverclyde. This round of grants is aimed at those groups who haven’t received any support in this financial year.
Councillor Graeme Brooks, Chair of the council’s Grants Sub-Committee, said, “Across Inverclyde we have groups doing fantastic work right in the heart of our community. The grants to voluntary organisations budget is set aside each year by the council to provide one-off support to give these groups a helping hand in doing that good work which benefits our area so much.
"The pot of money available is limited, so the members of the Grants Sub-Committee is to make sure the money spent achieves the maximum benefit across Inverclyde.”

Applications need to be submitted by the close of business on Friday 13 December 2019 and will be considered by the Grants Sub-Committee in February 2020.
