Holiday Fun Clubs - Scottish Attainment Challenge

Find out more about the holiday clubs available for families over the school holidays.

The Scottish Attainment Challenge has given Inverclyde funding to provide Fun Family during the school holidays.

The holiday clubs are free (except in Craigmarloch where they are only £1) and are offered in several communities across Inverclyde, to provide all families with a place to go and have fun playing with their children.  This is available to all children and families regardless of which school they go to.

Craigmarloch pupils will have activities provide by Play 4 All within Craigmarloch school but the set up is still the same, it is for fun family time and brothers and sisters are welcome, parents or guardians must come along too.

Families have the opportunity to learn arts and crafts (messy play), read stories and borrow books, family cooking time, take part in Bookbug sessions and meet other families who live in the community and there will also be a free light lunch provided.

Parents have told us that they like the holiday clubs “because it gives a purpose to get out the house, to catch up with other families”, for the children to meet “their friends and play for a couple of hours”, it is fun and free and “not having to worry about the lunch is an added bonus”.

Children have said they like “singing and having fun with their families and friends” during the school holidays.  Mums have told us that although they were scared at first about coming to somewhere new once they were in the club and they could see the range of activities and meet the other families, “they enjoyed their  time there and would be going back”.
