Inverclyde Council is launching a new service called ParentsPortal. This system will digitalise some of the administrative tasks that take place in school. ParentsPortal has been commissioned by the Scottish Government so all Local Authority schools can provide improved communication between school and home. ParentsPortal will mean that you will be notified by e-mail of any new information in your account or tasks you need to action. There will no longer be pieces of paper going missing between school and home and you will have instant access to key pieces of information about your child.

In Inverclyde, ParentsPortal will be rolled out in phases across the region and by the end of May 2022 parents in all our primary and secondary’s will be able to sign up and access the system.  The current phase only includes the following schools:

Clydeview Academy Cluster Port Glasgow High School Cluster St Stephen's High School Cluster
Clydeview Academy Port Glasgow HS St Stephen's HS
Ardgowan PS Kilmacolm PS St Francis' PS
Gourock PS Newark PS St John's PS
Moorfoot PS Craigmarloch School St Michael's PS
Lomond View Academy
Inverclyde Academy Cluster
Inverclyde Academy
Aileymill PS
Inverkip PS
King's Oak PS
Lady Alice PS
Wemyss Bay PS
Whinhill PS

If your child does not attend one of these schools you will be notified when the phase of roll out reaches their school. provides access to a suite of online services, including:

  • view a breakdown of your child’s attendance
  • complete permission slips
  • view the school calendar of events
  • view report cards – this may not be available in all schools
  • view school timetable of subjects (secondary only)

It allows you to update your own details as well as your linked child's details at any time, as well as completing the annual data check form online in September.

New services will be added to ParentsPortal as these are developed – for example we hope to be able to allow pupil absence to be reported through the system starting in August 2022.

On signing up to you'll be able to link to your child and gain access to the services, which are currently available.   We would encourage as many parents to sign up to use this system as possible to help us improve how we communicate with you. In order to link to your child the data you provide during the sign up process must match the data that your child's school holds.  If you are having problems trying to link to your childs record please read the attached trouble shooting guide for common issues.

To login to ParentsPortal you need a myaccount, a service that enables you to access a range of Scottish public services online using one username and password. If you already have myaccount, you can sign in at (link on this page). You will also be able to register for myaccount at this link by following the instructions on screen. Please see the videos below for an introduction to and how to register.

We know that not everyone has readily available access to internet or a device and if this is a concern please get in touch with your school who will be able to provide information in an alternative format.

New starts in primary 1 and senior 1 will not be able to link until the first day of term.
