Bulk Uplift Service
If you are unable to bring bulky household waste to our Recycling Centre, the Council operates an appointment system for the uplift of bulky household items such as furniture, mattresses, carpets, white goods etc.
You can arrange for an uplift of household items in a variety of ways:
- visit the Customer Service Centre
- telephone the Customer Service Centre
A minimum charge per visit applies for the uplift of up to 5 items.
If you want to dispose of fixtures & fittings or other non-standard items such as:
- home improvements materials (kitchen units, bathroom suites, windows, electrical items)
- garden waste (trees and branches)
an appointment can be arranged for a refuse collection supervisor to visit and provide a quotation.
Bulk Uplifts are carried out on Wednesdays.
Please note that payment is required in advance for the bulk uplift service. Payments must be made by 12 noon on Tuesday to ensure uplift on the next available Wednesday.
Follow the link to the Charging Booklet for current costs.
Please follow the link to view details of what can be recycled free of charge at Pottery Street Recycling Centre and Craigmuschat Recycling Point (scheduled to open on 10 July 2019).
