At Inverclyde Council we are committed to protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm and safeguarding their rights. We also have a duty to protect public funds and ensure the public’s trust and confidence in everything we do.
The Council follow a rigorous selection process to deter and reject unsuitable people and encourage individuals with the right attitudes and behaviour to work in the public sector. If you are offered a job with us you will be required to undergo the following checks before you start working with us. These checks apply for all positions, be they permanent, temporary, or sessional work. These checks include:
- Employment References / Head Teacher Reports / RC Approval
- Entitlement to work in the UK
- Medical Questionnaire
- PVG or Disclosure
- SSSC, GTC or HCPC Registration
If your post requires registration with a Regulatory Body such as, GTC, HCPC or SSSC etc. You are required to obtain and maintain registration including paying any fees.
Some posts in Criminal Justice Service will require access to the ViSOR information system, therefore it will be necessary to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of Level 2. The exact level will be in the Person Specification.
All applicants are advised that providing false information on your application or in relation to any of the checks outlined in the associated pages may result in your application being rejected, or in your summary dismissal if you have been appointed.
