Disabled Persons Parking Places (On-Street) Order No.1 2025

DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACES (ON-STREET)

ORDER No.1 2025

On 29/7/25, the Council made the above Order in terms of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended with modifications in terms of Regulation 13(1) of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Regulation Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999. The Order, which will come into operation on 10/9/25, was advertised in the Greenock Telegraph on 23/5/25 and the effect of the Order is as described in that Notice subject to the following modification:

The removal of: DPPP Ref No. 1317 at 2 George Rd, Gourock, DPPP Ref No. 1747 at 14 Gordon St, Greenock; DPPP Ref No. 1990 at 63 Larkfield Rd, Gourock; DPPP Ref No.19101 at 33 Albert Rd, Gourock; DPPP Ref No. 2283 at 7 Binnie St, Gourock; and DPPP Ref No.2380 at 7 Regent St, Greenock  from Schedule Part 2 of the Order.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the above Order or any provision contained in this on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within 6 weeks from 29/7/25 apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.      

 

     

Statement of Reasons for Proposing to make

the above Order

It is considered necessary, in order to comply with Section 5 of The Disabled Persons’ Parking Places (Scotland) Act 2009 and having regard to the Council’s duty under Section 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  to make the above Order to provide assistance for disabled persons who hold a badge under the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (Scotland) Regulations 2000 as amended.
