Paris route welcome.

Inverclyde business bosses are welcoming the news of a new service from Glasgow Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
For, they reckon that Inverclyde’s key position close to the airport and strong business sector are ideal to capitalise on the new service into continental Europe for business travellers.
Inverclyde Council’s Environment and Regeneration Convener, Councillor Michael McCormick said: “Inverclyde is in the ideal position and with excellent transport links for an expansion of services into the heart of Paris and Europe to be a business boost.
“The announcement by Air France is one that business travellers in Inverclyde and the rest of the west of Scotland will welcome. It adds to the business offer from our location, given our proximity to the airport, and overall to Scotland’s connectivity into Europe.”
Helen McCormick, Chief Executive of Greenock Chamber of Commerce, said: “Greenock Chamber of Commerce are delighted to hear of this new route. This is a welcome and positive move for both business and tourism and one which a number of our members have wanted for some time.”
Air France announced a daily summer service between Glasgow and Paris starting in March 2016. The Air France Airbus A318, carries up to 131 passengers and media reports have indicated that the Glasgow service has been of interest to the company because of the strong case made by businesses in Scotland.
Inverclyde has direct road routes on the A8/M8 to Glasgow Airport and the area’s boundary is within a 15 minute drive.
