Parking is as easy as one, two, FREE.

Parking in Greenock Town Centre is as easy as one, two, FREE.
For, on-street parking in Greenock town centre has now increased to two hours free.
The new on-street parking in the area known as ‘inner Greenock’ will be increased from a maximum of 30 minutes to a maximum of two hours.
The move will also see on-street parking free on Saturdays. It means that both on street parking and council-run car parks in the inner Greenock area are free on weekends.
The changes have been agreed by the full Council meeting and have now completed their statutory six week period for any legal challenges to the Council’s process in promoting the Order.
New signs will be in place and drivers should check them to make sure they are fully aware of the new rules.
Inverclyde Council’s Environment and Regeneration Convener, Councillor Michael McCormick, said: “With on street parking in Greenock Town Centre increased from 30 minutes to 2 hours, the Council has shown that it responds to local needs. While there was support for the 30 minutes, it was clear that a longer period would be of more benefit. The parking rules are designed to assist local businesses to make sure there is a greater turnover of spaces in the town centre. We will now have up to two hours free during the week and free parking on-street and in Council-run car parks all weekend.”
