Port Glasgow Eastern Gateway consultation opens today
Today sees the launch of the consultation on the Eastern Gateway aera of Port Glasgow.
The Eastern Gateway area covers an area stretching from the Woodhall Roundabout on the A8 to east, to Coronation Park on the edge of Port Glasgow Town centre to the west and Parkhill Avenue to the south. It encompasses the neighbourhoods of Clune Park, Woodhall and Kelburn which are the key regeneration priorities in the area.
The Gateway is characterised by its fantastic position overlooking the Clyde estuary, its wealth of greenspaces and its excellent transport links. However, the Eastern Gateway needs positive change and it is the aim of this strategy to provide a framework for the regeneration of the area that will improve the environment, create jobs and opportunities and attract new residents. In doing so the strategy also aims to help reverse the shrinking population both in Port Glasgow and Inverclyde as a whole.
