Dunrod Road reinstatement update
PROGRESS is being made towards the reinstatement of a rural road between Greenock and Inverkip.
Ground investigation works are due to begin from Monday 16 June 2025 within the existing road closure on Dunrod Road for five weeks.
It is part of efforts to reopen the route, which has been closed for some time due to a partial failure of the road and movement of the road caused by a variety of factors.

The ground investigation works will provide information on the existing ground conditions and will inform the detailed design for the route realignment.
People are being reminded that the road is closed and not to use it.
The council has set aside £1.5 million to address the issues affecting the route and develop a solution so that it can be reopened.
The road links to the Greenock Cut from Inverkip and the west.
The other main route to The Cut from Drumfrochar Road remains open and will be unaffected by the ground investigation works.
