Tributes to former councillor

Tributes have been paid to former councillor Gerry Dorrian, who passed away this weekend.

Gerry proudly served his constituents in Branchton, Braeside, Larkfield, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay for 15 years, from 2007 until 2022.

During his time with Inverclyde Council, he was Chair of the General Purposes Board and Vice-Convener of the Health and Social Care Committee.

Gerry had a genuine interest in supporting local veterans and as such he was also the Council’s Armed Forces Champion.

Councillor Stephen McCabe, leader of Inverclyde Council said: “Gerry had a good relationship with all his fellow councillors, regardless of their political persuasion and will be sorely missed.

“On behalf of the council and people of Inverclyde, I send my condolences to Gerry’s wife Anne and his family.”
