Contacting the Planning Policy Team
The Planning Policy Team is responsible for a wide range of functions including the preparation of the Inverclyde Local Development Plan and for contributing to the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan. The Team also has responsibility for Lower Clyde Greenspace, Outdoor Access, Biodiversity, the Council's Green Charter and the Council’s duties regarding Climate Change.

Responsible for managing the Planning Policy Team.
Margaret Pickett Senior Planner

Responsible for matters relating to the built heritage (conservation areas, listed buildings and archaeology), renewable energy, natural environment (including local and strategic designations) and leisure and recreation (including Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park).
Ashley Hamilton Planner
Responsible for matters relating to industry and business, vacant and derelict land, transportation, water, drainage and flooding, the open space audit and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
Paul Murphy Carbon Reduction Officer
Responsible for the Council’s duties in regard to Climate Change, the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Council's Carbon Management Programme, the Utilities Cost Management Programme and the Council’s Green Charter.
