Inverclyde Business Training Grant
1. This discretionary fund can provide a training grant to Inverclyde small and medium sized businesses (less than 250 employees) who trade in the area.
2. The grant can be used to cover up to 100% of total costs (excluding VAT) of training activities up to a maximum contribution of £2,000.
3. Training should be aimed at upskilling staff to enable them to enhance their skillset which may lead to an improved employment situation.
4. The training should be delivered by an appropriate external training provider.
5. Training that is a statutory requirement of the current post held by the employee will not be eligible for grant support.
6. You must have a clear idea of how the training will benefit the employee(s), and also how it will benefit your business.
7. If the application is approved, an Offer of Grant will be issued, and it is from that date that the training can be undertaken.
8. You should not make a financial commitment to the training until you have applied and received a formal grant offer.
9. Training which has already taken place ahead of the Offer of Grant being issued will not be eligible for support.
10. The grant will be paid retrospectively into a business bank account on submission of evidence of the training provider having been paid (ie a copy of the providers invoice and copy of the business bank statement showing the payment to the training provider clearing the company bank account).
