Memories from… is starting on Tues 5 July at Port Glasgow library, 2-3pm. Meet others to share memories of work & social life in Inverclyde from the 1950s-1990s. To register email library.central@inverclyde.gov.uk or phone 01475 712323

 Step Out Chatty Café -

Please note that the Step Out Chatty Café will stop for the autumn/ winter period on 28th September. It will resume again in spring 2023

From 6th April, join us at Port Glasgow Library for our Step Out Chatty Café to enjoy a short walk in the fresh air before heading back to the library for a chat and cup of tea.

To improve fitness and general wellbeing, this Chatty Café will include a walk for up to 30 minutes from Port Glasgow library, followed by approximately 45 minutes back in the library for tea/coffee and a read & recommend chat about books or just a general chat.

The sessions are free, led by trained Walk Leaders and all adults are welcome.

Please note that walkers undertake the walks at their own risk and should contact a health professional before attending if they have any concerns about their ability to participate in the walks.

Do you like gardening? Would you like to reduce the effects of climate change using our green spaces?
Then come along to our Chatty Café and be part of our exciting community reading garden project.
Share your expertise, learn new things, and meet like-minded people.

From 8th March come along to Gourock Library and learn how to upcycle things you’ve stuffed in cupboards ‘for later’ or rescued from the recycle bin!

Resources are supplied but feel free to bring your own and enjoy free refreshments and some good company!

Registration details are below or chat to a member of staff about coming along.

Sessions 1 & 2: Card design
Activity: Decorate a card for Easter as well as any upcoming events or occasions in your diary.
What you can bring: Anything you want! Photos, nice paper or recycled decorations from your saved card stash.

Sessions 3 & 4: Paper flowers      
Activity: Upcycle any kind of paper and come up smelling of roses. Once you learn this technique you can decorate anything!
What you can bring: Buttons, newspaper or an old book. Any kind of book will do, even old maps or illustrated books work.  

Sessions 5 & 6: Photo frames      
Activity: Make photo frames from paper or card or show an old frame some love.   
What you can bring: Old photo frames to upcycle or paper or fabric you want to use for decoration.
