Local Government Benchmarking Framework

The Local Government Benchmarking Framework (LGBF) provides evidence of trends in how Councils allocate resources, the performance of key Council services and levels of public satisfaction with the major services provided and commissioned by Councils.  The purpose of the LGBF is for Councils to work together to:

  • improve their use of performance information
  • understand variations in achievements
  • share good service

The LGBF provides data across a range of key service areas:

  • Children's Services
  • Adult Social Care
  • Corporate Services and Corporate Assets
  • Culture and Leisure Services
  • Economic Development and Planning
  • Environmental Services and Tackling Climate Change
  • Financial Sustainabilty

An overview of Inverclyde Council's latest performance data is provided in the LGBF Performance Pages 2023/24, which you can find in the Documents section on the right hand side of this page.

You can find more information on the Council's LGBF performance, including details of how we compare with Councils of a similar socio-economic make up or population size, on the Improvement Service website or follow the 'Explore the Data' link that is provided in the 'Other Websites' section of this page.  A link to the LGBF National Benchmarking Overview Report 2023/24 is also provided.
