HOW TO OBTAIN EVIDENCE THAT YOU QUALIFY

 

  • INCOME SUPPORT (IS)
  • INCOME BASED EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE (ESA)
  • INCOME RELATED JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE (JSA)
  • PENSION CREDIT 

Evidence that you are in receipt of one of the benefits mentioned above, can be obtained using the link for DWP's website in the Other Websites section or by calling:-

  • 0800 169 0310 (freephone)

Please note you will be asked for your National Insurance Number before you can obtain the evidence.  

If you do not have your National Insurance Number to hand it can be found:-

  • On your payslip.
  • On your P60 or P60U (a form you get at the end of each tax year).
  • On letters from DWP or HMRC about your tax, pension, or benefits.
  • Using the link to the National Insurance section of your personal tax account at HMRC in the Other Websites section.

 

UNIVERSAL CREDIT (UC)

Sign in to your Universal Credit journal using the link shown in the Other Websites section of this web page.

Please note you will need the sign-in details for your UC journal.

 

ASYLUM SEEKERS EVIDENCE

Please provide a 'share code' to your eVisa to allow Education Services to access your residency status information. This can be obtained using the link shown in the Other Websites section of this web page.

 

KINSHIP CARE 

If you have a registered Kinship Care agreement overseen by Inverclyde Council, we will have access to this information.  You will not need to attach a copy of your confirmation letter.  However, if the agreement if overseen by a different Local Authority you will need to contact that Local Authority for written confirmation that you are the registered Kinship Carer.

If the Kinship agreement is an informal arrangement, you will not qualify as a Kinship Carer and must attach evidence that your household qualifies under one of the other criteria.
