Opportunities for All – Greenock Jobs Fair
Hundreds of people from across Inverclyde came along to a career and jobs fair in Greenock.
The event at Greenock Town Hall was open to anyone aged 16 and over looking for employment or training and was organised by Inverclyde Council, Skills Development Scotland and Jobcentre Plus.
Environment & Regeneration Convener Councillor Michael McCormick said: “Unemployment is a sad reality for many people and something we are all determined to tackle. It is important that local people are given every opportunity to meet potential employers and also to get an idea of what jobs are available. This event allowed that to happen and also reinforced the excellent skills and experience we have in Inverclyde.”
Representatives from a variety of organisations were available to discuss jobs, training and education opportunities.
Councillor McCormack added: “I really want to take the opportunity of thanking all of the employers who committed to attending the event and hope they got to meet some excellent candidates”
