Adult Protection takes to You Tube
Inverclyde’s adult protection messages are being broadcast on You Tube.
For Inverclyde’s adult protection committee commissioned a series of short films on the online channel to raise awareness of issues around protecting vulnerable adults.
The ten videos use real life situations to tell the story and inform the community of the types of harm vulnerable people in Inverclyde can face.
Councillor Joe McIllwee, convenor of Health and Social Care, said: “The fundamental outcome for this project is to help those affected feel empowered to deal with similar situations and make others think twice about their own actions when witnessing such incidents. Helping everyone understand the signs and dangers of such abuse will hopefully help put an end to these frightening encounters.
“Using real life examples and casting at risk adults in the relevant roles, these two minute long videos capture the essence of what can unfortunately be all too common an experience for adults with learning difficulties and those in vulnerable positions in society.”
PC Kirsty Murray, Equalities Officer for Police Scotland said: "Protecting vulnerable members of the community is of utmost importance to Police Scotland. These videos are in an invaluable resource in raising awareness of potential harm. Everyone has the right to live safely and without fear."
