Workers’ Memorial Day is an opportunity to remember all of those killed through work but at the same time raising awareness to help ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.

Inverclyde Council hosts, on behalf of Greenock and District Trade Union, a memorial event at the sculpture situated at Clyde Square, Greenock.

This year the event takes place at noon on Friday 28 April where a short service and wreath laying will be held.

The theme for Workers’ Memorial Day 2017 is ‘Good health and safety for all workers whoever they are’ and will focus on inequalities in occupational health and the role unions play in narrowing the inequalities gap.
