National Finals Beckon for Inverclyde School
An Inverclyde Council secondary school has reached the national finals of a top entrepreneurial competition after winning the regional heat.

St Columba’s High was named Best Company at the Young Enterprise Scotland’s Company Programme for Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.
Eighteen teams – including four from Inverclyde – reached the regional finals having been running businesses since the start of the academic year with support from local business volunteers and Young Enterprise Scotland.
St Columba’s was named Best Company overall for MDF – Making Design Fun, while two teams from Inverclyde Academy and one from Clydeview academy also picked up prizes.
The Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme provides business and entrepreneurial experience for S5/S6 pupils who develop a wide range of skills.
At the end of the academic year the young companies compete on a local, regional, national and European level to be crowned Company of the Year.
