Kerbside Glass Collections to End
Inverclyde Council is reminding householders that from Sunday 1 July glass will no longer be collected from the kerbside for recycling.

Final kerbside collections are scheduled to take place during June.
Environment & Regeneration Convener Councillor Michael McCormick: “As part of the Council’s budget review we had to make the tough decision to withdraw the kerbside glass collection service. It wasn’t an easy one as we pride ourselves on our excellent record on recycling.
“I appreciate people will now have to go a little out of their way rather than enjoy the convenience of collections but I would encourage householders to continue to recycle and re-use what they can.
“Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting the kerbside glass collection service and I hope people will continue to make use of the wide range of recycling facilities we have available in Inverclyde.”
Householders are being asked to continue to leave their black box beside their black bin by 7am on their regular residual waste collection day until Friday 29 June.
Glass can still be recycled at Pottery Street and Kirn Drive Recycling Centres and at the neighbourhood recycling points which are situated at convenient locations throughout Inverclyde.
Residents can keep their black box after Sunday 1 July to store and transport glass bottles and jars for recycling. Alternatively the boxes can be recycled at Pottery Street Recycling Centre.
