You’re Hired! – Support for Local Graduate Jobs
Local companies are being urged to sign-up to an Inverclyde Council scheme supporting jobs for new graduates.

Up to £9000 a year is available to firms hiring a local young person who has recently graduated.
Environment & Regeneration Convener Councillor Michael McCormick said: “This is an ideal way to keep local young talent in Inverclyde that also benefits local companies.
“We are working hard to develop a thriving local economy and make Inverclyde an attractive and diverse area for investment.
“Our schools continue to provide many young people with the springboard into further education and schemes like this provide attractive opportunities for them to bring their newly acquired skills home to Inverclyde.”
The wage subsidy is for half of the actual hourly rate payable to a maximum of £9,000 or 52 weeks – whichever comes first – and is available to an Inverclyde employer hiring a recent graduate who lives in Inverclyde.
Posts must be a minimum of 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. Zero hours contracts are not eligible.
Councillor McCormick added: “We only have a limited number of subsidies available so I would urge any employers who are interested to get in touch. They don’t necessarily need to have an eligible person in mind. We can provide support finding a suitable candidate.”
