Community groups can apply for council grants

Voluntary groups across Inverclyde can now apply to the council for cash help.

Applications are now being accepted for Inverclyde Council’s grants to voluntary organisations for the 2019-20 financial year.

Some £200,000 is available to support a range of community groups and activities.

Chair of the council’s grants sub-committee, Councillor Graeme Brooks, said, “Voluntary groups do a great deal of good work within local communities. The grants from the council provide a significant level of support to these groups but the pot of money available is limited.

“We would urge local community groups to apply as soon as possible. Applications must be received by close of business on Monday 13 May. They will then be considered by the council’s Grants Sub-Committee at its meeting in June.”

Organisations have to register with the council when they apply. Registration/application forms are available to download from the council’s website. Guidance notes are also available to help applicants decide if the fund is appropriate for them.

Applicants can phone 01475 715450 or email cld.admin@inverclyde.gov.uk to ask for an application form.
