Local residents invited to shape the future of their communities
Local residents are being invited to get actively involved with setting priorities and planning how council and health and social care services are delivered in their area.
The Inverclyde Alliance has organised a series of events to give people the opportunity to shape the future of their communities. The Inverclyde Alliance is the local community planning partnership.
The alliance aims to develop and implement a shared plan to promote the area’s well-being, reduce inequality and improve the quality of life for everyone.
It brings together Inverclyde Council, the Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership statutory bodies, agencies, the voluntary sector and the wider community.
Councillor Stephen McCabe, Chair of the Inverclyde Alliance, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who would like to get actively involved in the way services are delivered and shape how their community might look in the future. Public bodies cannot do this alone, we need to listen to what local people say and learn what is important to them.”

The Inverclyde Alliance is also looking for volunteers to act as the voice of their community on its local planning team.
Volunteers will be asked to help develop and implement plans designed to deliver the Inverclyde Alliance’s key improvement priorities and the objectives outlined in the Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership Strategic Plan.
Volunteers will be part of the team making important decisions about local communities and the services that are provided.
No specific skills are required but community members should have an interest in health and social care, and the work of the community planning partnership.
Community members should also have an understanding of the issues that are important to their local neighbourhood and ensure peoples’ views are taken into account when decisions are being made. Anyone living in Inverclyde is eligible to apply.
