Play time for local kids as 12 play areas re-open
Inverclyde kids are in for a treat at 10am on Monday 29 June, when play areas at 12 locations in Inverclyde re-open. They had been closed to help stop the spread of Covid 19.
The play areas are at: Ailsa Road, Battery Park (no 1, no 2 and the outdoor gym), Birkmyre Park (Kilmacolm), Boglestone, Coronation Park, Fox Street, Inverkip community centre, King Street, Leven Road, Sir Michael Street, Wellpark and Wemyss Bay community centre.
Councillor Michael McCormick, Convener of Inverclyde Council’s Environment & Regeneration Committee, said, “Re-opening these play areas is a visible example of how the hard work the whole community put in during the lockdown is now starting to pay off.
“But, while Scotland has made significant progress in containing the virus, it hasn’t gone away and people still need to take precautions to protect themselves and others from catching it.
“We will be putting up signs asking people to make sure that children use hand sanitiser before and after they play on the equipment. People should also still follow the 2m (6 feet) social distancing guidelines.”
