New Funding for Mental Health Organisations in Inverclyde
The Inverclyde Public Mental Health Remobilisation Grant Programme, provided by the Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and delivered on their behalf by CVS Inverclyde, will provide funding to third sector organisations in Inverclyde already offering mental health support.
A total of £35,000 will be split over two funding streams (Capacity Building and Community Delivery) and the aim of this grant programme is to add momentum and capacity to pre-existing public mental health efforts in Inverclyde.
CVSI CEO Charlene Elliott said: “There are many third sector organisations in Inverclyde already doing a fantastic job supporting mental health in Inverclyde and this funding is a welcome boost; especially at a time when mental health services are seeing a rise in demand and organisations are having to do more with less.
“As Inverclyde’s third sector interface, CVSI is well-placed to administer this funding. Funding continues to be one of the most difficult issues for charities and voluntary organisations so we are pleased to be able to assist organisations. This grant programme will have a positive impact on Inverclyde communities and will help ensure vital mental health services can continue their life-saving work.”
Inverclyde’s Health and Social Care Convener, Councillor Robert Moran, said: “Support for mental health support is important at any time but after the challenges we have gone through over the past year it is even more important. There are so many organisations in Inverclyde doing wonderful work to support our community. This funding will help at a particularly challenging time not just for the community but also our partners in the third sector who we should support at every available opportunity”
