Recruitment event is working out

JOB hunters can find out more about dozens of posts currently available across Inverclyde at a recruitment fair taking place this week.

The event will be held in the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on Wednesday (8 September) afternoon for people to find out about dozens of positions that are being advertised across a range of council and health and social care partnership (HSCP) services.

It will give prospective employees the chance to find out directly from recruitment teams about the jobs that are available and how to apply.

Councillor Stephen McCabe, leader of Inverclyde Council, said: “As part of our ongoing Inverclyde Works campaign highlighting the many employment opportunities locally, we want to make it as easy as possible to support people into work within our own organisation, which is the largest employer in Inverclyde.

Recruitment fair September 2021

“This event will allow anyone who is considering a career within the council/HSCP to find out directly from recruiters all they need to know and get help with applying.

“There are vacancies across a wide range of services so it’s a good opportunity to get more information about those, find out about posts that will be coming up in the near future and ask questions so that people can find a role that’s suitable for them.”

There are currently positions available in areas such as education, including in primary, secondary and early years establishments; care at home; community learning and development; social work; and drug and alcohol support.

The recruitment fair is free to attend and will run from 1.30-4.30pm.

Attendees will be required to wear a face covering indoors, unless medically exempt, and provide contact details on arrival to comply with the national Test & Protect tracing system.
