International Workers' Memorial Day 2025

International Workers’ Memorial Day will be marked with a service next week.
The event will be held in Clyde Square, Greenock, on Monday, 28 April, 2025 at 12 noon, led by Assistant Minister Dougie Adam.
Wreaths will be laid at the ‘Men of the Clyde’ sculpture in the square, on behalf of Inverclyde Council, trade unions and clergy.
A lone piper will then play a lament followed by a minute’s silence.
International Workers’ Memorial Day takes place on 28 April each year to remember people who were killed at work, as well as those who have suffered injury, illness or disease through their employment.
The service is open to members of the public and employers are encouraged to support staff to attend if they wish or to take a moment during the day to mark the occasion.
