Greenock Parking Consultation 2019

We are looking for your views on whether ‘parking discs’ should be removed from Greenock town centre.

Parking discs are used by drivers to show what time they arrived in a parking space in what’s known as the ‘disc zone’. It has been suggested that the parking discs are not working in Greenock and they should be removed. Councillors have discussed this and are keen to hear the views of local residents and visitors.

Removing the discs would mean that all the exisiting parking restrictions would still remain in force but drivers wouldn’t need to display a disc showing the time they parked. If it's decided to stop using parking discs drivers who overstayed the existing time limits could still receive a penalty charge notice.

The five week consultation starts on Monday 26 August and finishes on Friday 27 September.
