Proposed Public Processions
Details of proposed processions intimated to the Council can be viewed below.
Any person or organisation who wishes to bring to the attention of the Council any information relevant to the Council’s consideration of any individual notification should do so, in writing, to reach the Council’s Head of Legal and Democratic Services not later than 14 days prior to the date of the proposed processions.

PROPOSED PUBLIC PROCESSIONS 2025
Anyone who would like to comment on a parade which is planned in their local area should do so in writing by the date noted. Please refer comments to the Head of Legal, Democratic, Digital and Customer Services, Inverclyde Council, Municipal Buildings, Greenock, PA15 1LX.
DATE AND TIME – Sunday 11 May 2025 10.20am
ORGANISATION – 2nd Gourock Boys Brigade and 4th Gourock Guides Company
PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK The procession will depart from Binnie Street at BT Building and proceed to John St, Shore St, Pierhead, Kempock Pl , Bath St and up to St.John’s Church. On the return, the procession will proceed from Bath Street, to Kempock Pl, Pierhead , Shore St, John St and onto Binnie St for dismissal at the BT Building.
NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 100 persons
REASON – To attend the annual end of session Youth service at St John’s Church , Bath Street , Gourock.

ORGANISATION – Gryffeside Charity Tractor Run
PROPOSED ROUTE – KILMACOLM/ PORT GLASGOW The procession will depart from Gryffeside Farm and will proceed along Auchentiber Rd, Auchenbothie Rd, Dougliehill Rd, B788 High Greenock Rd, Gateside Rd, Killochries Rd, B786 Lochwinnoch Rd, B788 High Greenock Rd, Blacksholm Rd back to Gryffeside Farm.
NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 50 persons
REASON – To raise money for Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 22 June 2025 at 11am
ORGANISATION – Port Glasgow Runners (Port Glasgow 10k)
PROPOSED ROUTE – PORT GLASGOW The procession will depart from Coronation Park onto Mirren Shore, proceeding along Anderson St, Lithgow Way, Crunes Way, Scott Way, Port Glasgow Rd, Ardgowan St, Orchard Crescent, Kingston Crescent, Scott Way, Anderson St, Mirren Shore back to Coronation Park. The procession will then leave Coronation Park and will proceed along the footpath to the south of Port Glasgow Community Fire Station, Castle Rd, Boardwalk, Parklea Rd to Kelburn Park. The procession will leave Kelburn Park at the Boardwalk and follow the active travel route to Newark Castle entrance gates. The procession will then turn right onto Castle Rd and follow the path to the south of Port Glasgow Community Fire Station finishing at the Steam Hammer monument.

REASON – 10k fun run.

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 21 June 2025 at 4pm ORGANISATION – Gourock Defenders of the Faith LOL 345 PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK Rd, Kirn Dr, Arran Rd, MacMillan Dr, Skye Crescent, Iona Crescent, Queensway, Ailsa Rd, Divert Rd, Bute St, Arran Rd, Tower to return to Drumshantie Rd and Darroch Car Park for dispersal.
