Planning Enforcement
Planning permission is required for most development that takes place in Scotland, with the exception of some minor works. Occasionally, however, development takes place without the benefit of planning permission or developments following a grant of planning permission do not accord with the approved plans. The Council undertakes monitoring of subsequent developments but can also act on unauthorised development taking place. Some matters are also brought to the attention of the Council by members of the public.
