Summary of Committee Remit

The Policy and Resources Committee has corporate responsibility for:

• All aspects of corporate policy and resources
• Overview of strategic planning (including Community Plan and the Corporate Plan)
• All aspects of the overall Council Budget (Capital and Revenue)
• Corporate performance
• Partnership activity
• Major corporate initiatives (including Modernisation and Efficiency)

The Committee also has responsibility for directorate planning performance management reporting and financial monitoring for the following service areas:

• Chief Executive’s Office
• Finance
• ICT and Systems Development
• Performance Management and Procurement
• Corporate Communications and Public Affairs
• Legal and Administration
• Human Resources and Organisational Development

It is also responsible for overseeing the Council’s relationship with the following agencies and partnerships:

• Inverclyde Alliance
• abc Purchasing Consortium and Scotland Excel
• Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board
