Covid 19 Risk Assessments

A series of generic and service specific risk assessments have been produced for use within Inverclyde Council in relation to this emergency.

While many tasks being carried out within Inverclyde Council will be covered by current task specific risk assessments many Service areas will be carrying out new or additional tasks, these must be risk assessed as required under the regulations. This is especially important given the rapidly changing situation and the requirement for new activities to be carried out which are out with the normal work of the Services.

Assistance with risk assessments is available from the Health and Safety Section and employees/line managers should email health.safety@inverclyde.gov.uk for assistance.

The risk assessments attached to this page must be reviewed and accepted by services as being suitable for their own service areas.

Given the rapidly changing nature of this emergency, risk assessments must be kept under constant review by the Services using them. Reviews should be carried out as follows:

  • Changes in government advice and guidance
  • On a regular basis i.e. at least every two weeks initially and then monthly to two monthly as situations stabilise
  • In the event of any incident, near miss or  issue highlighted by employees or TU's
