When are my bins collected?
How to check when your bins are collected:
As your blue bin (or bag) and your brown bin will be collected one week and your black bin (or bag) the next, there are two parts to knowing when you should put your bins (or bags) out for collection:
- What is your bin (or bag) collection day?
- Which recycling week applies?
The links on the right will provide you with this information:
- bin collection days. This will tell you which day of the week your bins or bags will be collected and which recycling calendar applies to your address. (The table is sorted in alphabetical order by street name)
- recycling calendar week 1 or week 2. This shows you, highlighted, which weeks to put out your recycling bins (your black bin goes out on the weeks not highlighted).
Food waste is collected fortnightly along with black bins.
Seasonal brown bin collections take place between March and November.
Householders wishing to recycle garden waste in an Inverclyde Council brown bin need to buy a seasonal garden waste permit.
The charge for collecting garden waste from the kerbside in 2024 is £42.00 per bin. A permit is required for each brown bin presented containing garden waste.
Permits last for all brown bin collections during the garden waste collection season.
The £42.00 charge applies regardless of at what point in the year the permit is purchased.
Seasonal brown bin collections take place between March and November.
Brown bin collections have commenced for the garden waste collection season.
Please present your brown bin by 7am on your regular recycling collection day during the garden waste collection season.
Bins presented containing garden waste without a valid permit will not be emptied.
You can recycle your garden waste at our Recycling Centres throughout the year.
